I bought a new key for my 99. Cougar on e bay, and i programd it at home by truning it 4 times i key fob from 1 to 2 and then pushing any button, central locking and remote control are working but car wont start with new key.. Any ideas?

You have to have 2 working keys already if you plan to program any more yourself. If you only have one, you must have a device that will interface with your computer to program more keys, whether that’s a FORScan device or a dealership visit.

Once you have 2 working keys, you can make all you want beyond that for free.

FORSCAN will allow you to delete all existing keys and reprogram the two you have.

Good luck. FORSCAN is powerful but isn't terribly user friendly. If that doesn't work, the simplest solution will probably be to replace the PCM and RFID with a matched set.
