I recently bought an SVT upper and it needed cleaning. I just finished cleaning the upper and I want to ensure there is nothing in there (i.e. from the wire brush or anything like that). How should I go about doing this? Would an air gun work or not? I just don't want to put the upper on and then have a bristle from the wire brush or some other type of debris get in to the engine.

when I clean my upper I just use a brush and lots of intake cleaner. Nothing will get stuck in there after you unload 2-3 cans of cleaner into it.

Set the UIM on end, and take an air compressor chuck with 100+psi on tap. Shoot right into each runner, and you should be plenty clear of debris. Remember to point the TB end down so that you'll have gravity on your side as things loosen up.
