Here is my situation...

I bought stock fog lights and bulbs online a while ago... put them in... they look great...

Then when I wanted to make them work I bought the factory switch from FordPartsOnline and I put the switch in and to my dissapointment they did not turn on.

So I got real pissed because my car seemed to be equipped with wiring.

So I bought a wiring kit from Caterina and now I am even more confused. What wiring do I need to replace and what is a relay??

I really want to get these going in my car but im just not sure what to do. The thing Caterina sent me has a switch on it and I don't want to use that as I bought a factory switch.

Any help would be appreciated... thanks again!

Here's what I sent him in the PM. This is if you already have the wiring for the foglights installed. You can check by taking out the filler cups where the fogs go & looking for a plug tapped up somewhere. If you do then you just need to buy the fogs, headlight switch w/fog control & the relay.

Under your dash, behind the steering wheel, that panel you removed to install the stock switch w/fogs. If you look at where that panel covered you should be able to see what appear to be the backs of clips sticking out. Either feel around or look up underneath it and you should see what appears to be a plug with nothing going to into it. This is where the relay goes for the foglights (it just turns them off when the highbeams go on). Without something there the fogs won't turn on.

You have 2 options here. Find the relay, which unless Ford has fixed, is in their parts system under the wrong #. They list it as an A/C Compressor relay or something, check with Fett since he works for Ford and can get the the proper part # most likely. Your second option is to just jump connectors with some heavy gauge wire. This will allow the fogs to work and allow you to put your highbeams on and keep the fogs on at the same time. The relay you want is going to be BLUE. The one listed for the fog relay in Ford's computer is WHITE and only allows the fogs to go on with the highbeams.

To do that latter find about 1" of some heavy gauge (40 is good) wire. When you look at the plug it's going to have 2 plugs that are parallel and another that's unparallel (and it's smaller. Think of a 3 prong outlet). You want to make a "U" shape from the wire and jam it into the 2 parallel slits. You may need to jam it in there. I didn't notice, but took the precaution anyway, of wrapping it in electrical tape incase it gets hot or something & touches plastic or metal. Unplug the battery before you do this so you don't run the risk of blowing a fuse or getting electricuted. Tho if it's switched to "off" then there should be nothing going through it.

This was all I needed to do to get the fogs to work. It was a pain to figure out where the relay was since it's separate from every other relay/fuse in the car. Not to mention the part # was wrong.

Jscullin-Maybe you or Trevor can put that relay in the FAQs section or something because thats a pretty frequently asked question.

Thanks to CVZ4LIFE for the part number.

That looks like the plug for it. Mine was attached in betwen the switch and dimmer control(not on the actual panel) in the dash. And it was around $14.99 plus tax

Hey, since he posted a pic of the plug, would you mind circling the slots that you're talking about using?

If your car is not PRE-wired for fogs then that would pertain. But yours is. (ops) Check slot 8 not 5. and its a 20amp.
