My IMRC is going out as well, and i decided to open it up and look inside, it appears there is some nasty brown poop where the + and - wires for the actual motor touch the circuit board, i was wondering if resoldering those would make a difference. any ideas?

Normal. I have it too. My guess that this is the discoloring of the dielectic coating they use on all of the electronic parts in the car- Prevents corrosion, etc.

I usualy clean between the 2 contact points just to be sure.

Isn't that just flux from soldering? I have an old delay pedal that I was working on that had that from sodering. Really should get that working but I need 4 $35 delay chips that have been out of production for 15 years or so =(
