Okay, so now that I finally have the whole misfire situation taken car of, I decided I'd take my car in for a little overdue maintainence. ie; oil change, tire rotation/balance, etc... so everything would be kosher for a big cruise I'm going on this Sunday. So I take my car up to Tires Plus, since I've had them work on the car before, and they seem like good people and they've always done pretty good work in the past. I drop the car off, and pick it up at around 7. Then I come home from work and decide to step out and have a smoke. I look at my car, what do I see? This:

The driver side of my front ground effects are scratched all to hell! The jackasses must've scratched it putting it up on the lift, and just "forgot" to tell me about it. I'm going back their tomorrow to talk about it and see if I can't get them to pay for repairs. What do you guys think the chances of them owning up to this are?

That's what I'm expecting. I guess I'm just hoping for the tiny chance that they might actually admit they did it and be cool about all this.

That sucks, but unfortunetly they most likely won't own up to it. Good luck.

They might own up to it, most places won't even work on your car due to it being lowered or having a kit on just for that risk. And if they do work on they usually have you sign a discalimer or something oin case something like that happens..I'd check any paperwork you got from them..Most people don't look at what they're signing until its too late.

It kind of matters on the managers and such, a lot of places wont fix it because you didnt notice it at the place, and they could say that you did it on your own. But if one of the workers knows that he did it, and admits it, then you may be in good hands.

Well, I gave Tires Plus a call this morning and told them about the damage to my car. The guy I talked to (Scott) was the same one who checked me in and out yesterday, and he said to come on up to the shop and he'd take a look at it. In the meantime, he said he'd talk to all his shop guys and see if any of them knew anything about it. So I go up to the shop, and as soon as I walk in, Scott comes up to the desk and immediately admits that one of his guys had accidently pulled my car into a curb and scraped the front end. He said the mechanic told him about it yesterday when it happened, but since I picked the car up right before they closed, he was really busy getting everything closed down and forgot to tell me about it. So he asked me to drop my car off again tomorrow and he'd have someone from a bodyshop they have a pretty good relationship with take a look at it and get an estimate on repairs. I'll probably run to the shop I had all the work done and get an estimate from him and ask if they would let my guy do all the repairs. Just so I don't have to worry about getting the wrong silver/orange pearl ratio and having a mismatched car.

I kind of have a feeling that Scott didn't "forget" to tell me last night when I picked up the car though. Simply because if he had actually forgotten about it, I would think that as soon as I told him about the damage on the phone he would say "oh yea, I forgot to tell you about that. Come on in and we'll get it fixed up." I'm thinking they were hoping I just wouldn't notice and the problem would just go away. Oh well, I can't blame them for trying. I'm just glad they're admitting their mistake and doing what they have to to get it fixed.
