The problems you have with your car are curable.

In comparison, here were mine...

1) Un-diagnosable misfire
2) Fouling o2 sensors monthly
3) Leaking Hatch
4) Bad paint
5) Vacuum leak
6) Fouling spark plugs monthly
7) Bad struts
8) 3rd alternator
9) 3rd fuel pump
10) Bad strut mounts
11) Bad strut bearings
12) 3 sets of injectors

Most of this is being fixed by dropping a 3L with all new trimmings.

However, the problems with your car are few and far between, nothing a little NECO can't fix, right? Be glad you aren't in the position I was, while in the financial situation you currently are in.

I see a mod meet coming to help get rid of those problems....Don't sweat it Jamie the Cougar can be fixed. We can all give a helping hand.
tim u 4got tthe 13th 1 and its i love u hahahaha
Could be worse, you could be trying to make problems like I am(I shift my automatic like a 5 speed) just so i can have an excuse to drop in a new tranny aka 5 speed. You have it easy if it's only the body work thats the problem. As for tr0nic , the new 3L can't come soon enough. However, that still won't fix the paint and the struts.
its not just the body work though-it doesnt drive right and it just doesnt feel the same-i just dont want there to be even bigger problems down the road
know that feeling. after the accident in florida mine's been a little tweaked. got a real annoying squeak that makes me want to punch the cougar in the face (if it had one) every time i drive it.

also had a really odd electrical issue last year that kept killing my battery. soo aggravating for the couple weeks until we fixed it.
How does a bodyshop mess up your steering? Eh, just you just gotta get a new car then if you hate it that much.......
her car may not be driving right for a bunch of reasons. could be something not right engine wise as a result of the accident. could be the frame being tweaked as a result of the accident, etc... from what she told me about the damages, the insurance co should have totalled the car and called it a day.

I am so happy you told me all of that while we considering buying yr car......
Sry, didn't know she was in an accident, not well informed in CT. As for buying a cougar. I drive a 98' and haven't had a problem with it that I didn't create. As for creating a problem, don't shift your automatic like a 5 speed, its bad......haha. Other then that, not a single problem

I just cursed myself

Seriously, i was told "all it needs is some paint work and a faulty 02 sensor which i am fixing"
All of those things I listed were what i've replaced, not what is currently wrong with it.
For Tronic's defense, in his post he DID use the past tense of were his problems.

Know the feelin of wanting to get rid of the coug.. I'd almost think about it if I didn't owe sooo much. stupid debt! I got a fun blinkie batterylight,... possible tranny issues and a rough ride. Glad i have a warranty still.
Hey i've got a spare alternator (actually 2 once I get my high output one), your welcome to take it if you want it. It is not new, is not clean, but is tested and works fine.

Oh and thanks for the defense man.
Well you guys got problems, well so do I. The Cougar hasn't come out of the dam garage for 2 weeks now. I forgot what the hell it looks like.....

Ron
Ha Ha i wish that i could keep mine in a garage-it has already been keyed-i had a beautiful shiny flawless black paintjob then i made the STUPID mistake of washing it with a brand new CHENILLE wash cloth and it looks like i took a brillo pad to it....and OH YA my sunroof and the rest of my car are two different shades of black!!! isnt that nice! and then my car makes this horrible whining noise and vibrates like hell when the wheel is straight or turned towards the left... I need to put some serious TLC time into the coug and see if i can fix some of these things before they get worse....AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Almost sounds like a wheel bearing. Or a bent rim... but if it goes away turning right Iwould think wheel bearing... but I'm not a mechanic.

Ya I wish I had a garage too... She's too sexy for a daily driver. The cougar I mean (Yes I'm the kind of guy who'd say: "Not that your ugly, but..." not to be mean but stupid). My taillight covers look off until you get close and they match the bumper perfect... its wierd.

Don't need an alternator yet. If its getting replaced it'll be under warranty... although I cold probably walk there, and replace it myself before my "service" dept. even looks at it.
