I got 2.6 MPG! with some mod!

I have I/H(gutted precat)/E
and engine management system
when I tuned +10% A/F ratio inclease each 2000,3000,4000,5000,6000RPM,
I got 1.9 MPG.
so I tried adjust injector cycle! +50%, and each 3500,4100,4700,5300,6000 inclease +10% A/F ratio
reson is I don't need A/F inclease at low rpm, nomal driving. you know!

I have been using this setup about 2month. my MPG is 2.6!!!!!!!!!
I never reach this 2.6.since I bought

small question is that incleasing Injector cycle duty helps MPG?

On the way back from CougarFest '01 with I/H/E on my 2.5L I got 36MPG... With the A/C on. That was cruising at 75MPH or so, granted some of it was downhill.

Now with the 3L hybrid I sit at a wallet-puckering 19MPG in traffic, 24-26 on the highway.

Something's wrong with either your mileage computer or your engine.

i wouldn't trust that mileage computer if my left depended on it after any mods...

i beleive how it works is the comptuer keeps track of how many injector cycles have gone by over a given distance... it doesn't even care about how long the cycles were, just wether or not the injector was pulsed.... it then runs some math and spits out an MPG...

increasing your duty cycle will make your mileage worse, and you are saying it's getting better...

dang = aren't you running 19lbs injectors.... in that case, you need to in the very least say you are getting 90% of what the computer is spitting out at you, and then even worse if you had a computer tune done to change the injector duty cycle....

when i put 19lbs injecotrs and maf in on my 2.5L i was getting like 39+ mpg on the highway, but i was filling my tank up far more often than before....

The computer actually reads LOW believe it or not. I did the calculations at lunch today when I filled up- The computer said 19.8MPG, but I came out with 22.9MPG.

Keep in mind this is the SVT ECU with those 19# injectors, and I haven't done a damn thing with my S-AFCII yet...

right now i'm getting about 23 in the city...i drive about 50 miles a day. i've got a 99 V6 with 90,000. i really havent had a chance to take it out on the highway yet for a long drive, but i would say that i'm getting low 30's.

all i can say is that this is a huge improvement over my last car....87 V8 camaro...16 in the city and 23 on the highway.

Try 8mpg, that was on my old 1978 ford thunderbird. It had 180K miles on the original 351M V8. But the gas tank was 21 gallons so I never really thought about it.
