Welding just ensures less chance of leaks. Mine is welded from the ypipe back.
If you had leaks in your previously unwelded exhaust then maybe from it smoothing exhaust flow back out. But otherwise no, its just for stability and longevity of your exhaust.

Then stay in the closet...
i had mine performance welded with gallo 24 sauder. it might be illegal in my and 7 other states but hey, any real racer knows that it doesnt matter whether you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning. also make sure that the autorotating inverted nitrogen dampening exhaust flanges are open. extra 21 horses if theyre not closed

Wait... wasnt the Gallo 12 better?
It's a trade off, The 24 holds better though. The 12 heats up faster, but I dunno if you want that under extreme conditions lol...chances of it coming off is greater.
HAHAHAHA . . . fools . . . what you all didn't know is that I have been working to procure a small amount of Gallo 36, which generates 3 HP per gram . . . my Cougar is going to be SO fast once I get my exhaust rewelded.
Whoa...I didn't know pizza places made exhaust systems!!

Anyone have a link to that site?

Why do I have the feeling DanG hasn't seen this topic yet?
