Sorry, I have no pictures, but it was pretty simple. I made a Black & White shift boot with white stitching... If you feel too lazy to do it, I'll make ya one for $15! Here's how I did it:
I went to JoAnne Fabrics and bought 1/2 yard of black and 1/2 yard of white Vinyl. I found out later that that was WAY too much fabric (I can redo my side panels in vinyl now!).
Before actually removing the boot, I labeled each side of the shift boot so I knew which way the pieces went. Then I took the boot out and removed the staples holding the boot to the ring, and I cut the Zip-Tie holding the plastic shifter part to the boot. I then trimmed the stitching off so that it left me with 4 pieces of vinyl (Front, back, left, and right pieces . I used that as a template for cutting out the vinyl for my new shift boot. Make sure that you leave alittle extra fabric on the outside of the template for stitching, and also make sure to label each part that you cut out.
At this pointed I busted out my mom's sewing machine. You're gonna want to sew the boot inside out, so when you turn it back out get a nice stitch.
I Zip-tied it back to the shifter and hot glued it back onto the ring!Simple as that! I'll take pictures sometime and post them. I don't have a digital camera, so I'll hafta pay for film and developing.. hehe..
Happy Modding!
