I think the middle section can be popped open, revealing a few bolts that holds the outer frame of the overhead console to the roof of the car. I'm not sure though...

Can anyone else conferm this? What do i have to remove to find the screws, the map lights?

Pop out the middle cover around the map lights with a jeweler's screwdriver. Then disconnect the harnesses that are left and remove that piece. Then you'll see two screws in the back. Take them out, then just pull the thing off. You'll have to unhook the harnesses that go to the warning lights before it's completely free. Really easy, takes about 5 minutes, if that. You'll figure it out once you get in there.

Those are two star bolts BTW. There are also two retaining clips holding it in place. You have to pull the console straight down so you don't break the clips.

The torx bits are T20 or T25, if I remember correctly....
