Check the fuse for the interior lights or gauge cluster. Also, does your trunk light light up?...what about vanity mirror lights (if you have them)? And what year cougar do you have, I see you have Aussie headlights in your Avatar, but that doesn't tell me much...I'll check on which fuse it is again..

EDIT~After looking at my 2002 manual, you should check fuse number 34 and see if it's blown. This happened in my old 99 when I crossed a wire by accident....this fuse controls the Power Mirrors, Clock, Interior Lamps........if you notice any of those 3 not working, check this fuse.

EricF- I think he means it either turns off, or when he starts the car back up the time doesn't advance like it is supposed to...Mine's digital too, I think all Cougar's clocks are, unless custom modified. ;)

Yup, should be a fuse. Fuse number 34. This one is in the box under your steering column to the left of your pedals. If you need any help finding it, let me know, and I'll go out and take pics (not trying to insult your intelligence, it's just that not everyone would know where it is...I didn't when I got my car)

No problem, like I said, if you need pics or anything lemme know. All it takes it a few mins to go out and take them, and post them.

Anything else you need don't hesitate to ask....this, in my opinion, is what NECO's for.
