I just eyeballed it. I put black oil pastel on the tip of where the screws go. I held it on the car to the place where I wanted it. I then pressed down so that I could see where those tips had been. I started drilling through those holes. It looked good, just make sure you have it where you wnt it when press down, or you will get oil pastel everwhere. Anything like that would work, a little paint or something.
I've used my g/f's lipstick for stuff like that as well (with her permission, of course!). It works well because it is DEFinitely thick enough to transfer from one surface to another, yet it's not permanent like paint or magic marker... Just another suggestion in case you don't have paint around the house.
