I see that the trans bolt pattern on this motor bridges the block, mains bulkhead, and oil pan. I don't think my old engine stand from my last V8 rebuild is going to work very easily to hold up my 2.5 and still be able to disassemble it.

Those of you that built your own, what sort of setup did you use to get your motor in a convenient postion to work on it? :banghead:

Your old stand will work just fine, probably. But you will need to seperate the tranny and block. And attach the block where the tranny is, like you implied.

Tranny is off.

Only half of the bolt pattern is on the block itself. If I bolt it on using two upper/two lower bolt holes, I won't be able to take off the pan or disassemble the main bulkhead.

Oh humm .. i used a few stands with adjustable arms... let me see if i can find a pic.
