OK, i installed my Weapon-R Intake (short ram), and when i did it i forgot the instructions. But my friend knew what he was doing, so we got it all installed. But I never bolted it down, it should still run fine right? Well I started it up and all was ok (i thought), but then when the car was in neutral, i barley touched on the gas. and the rpms when down to like 500 ish. It sounded like it was going to die. Well i drove my cougar home, and i had to cruise control on @ around 70 mph and randomly it started "jumping" like i was pumping the gas or something. I know it was to be intake, did i maybe install it wrong? PLEASE HELP!

installing the intake won't cause that kind of problem. go back and make sure you hooked everything up right. sometimes it's very easy to overlook some of the simplest things.

when i first hooked up my intake, i had some surging problems, then my car just died all together. It happened the the idle hose that connects to the intake fell off. I just went to autozone and bought a clamp for it.

if the car is bucking like a bronco you have a vacuum leak. not a problem! just get claps on the hoses and everything should be fine.

you do have the intake hooked to the maf then to the pipe with the vacuum lines (not sure the name) then to the tb...right?

did you reset your ecu?.....my zetec cougar acted the same after i put my intake on and forgot to reset it

it's free and easy...won't hurt to try....disconnect your negative terminal....hold in the brake pedal for 10 seconds....hook it back up....see if that fixed the problem

The intake should look like this:

ThrottleBody -> Intake Tube -> MAF -> MAF Adapter -> Filter

Did you remember to plug the MAF sensor back in?
Did you remember to ensure every hole is used?
Did you ensure the MAF adapter fits 100%?

Weapon-R is known for making fairly crappy MAF adapters- generally they use universal ones that don't fit well, from a historical perspective.
