I'm hoping someone from the Neco family can help me identify an electrical sensor. I need to relocate it when I install my intercooler, but I'd like to be sure of what it is.

It's located on the drivers side, behind the front bumper cover . On the front frame, there's two slotted brackets which extend forward and down. The one on the passenger side is empty, the one on the driver's side has a small rectangular sensor (two wires). This is the sensor I'm talking about. I've checked the manuals and looked at the electrical schematics but I can't seem to identify what this sensor is for?

Obviously, if it's for the airbags........I'd be very concerned about moving it around, but I don't think it's related to the airbag system. Somehow I have a feeling it's the ambient air temperature sensor for the dash cluster. You know, the temperature reading you get when you cycle through the digital MPG, distance to empty, average speed....etc. Anyone know for sure?

taking a picture of it and posting it would be more than helpful. cause i can't visually think of which one you are talking about.

Long, thin, black looking thing? If so, i think your right.

Edit: Erm, i mean i think your right about it being an air temperature sensor.

Yes, it's about 1 1/2" long and about a 1/4" wide....and black. The two wires come out of one end and the other end has a small, short cylinder shaped piece sticking out....maybe a 1/16" diameter.

It also has a metal spring that holds it in place on the slotted bracket.

Yes, I know a picture would be really helpful Rista, I tried to take one, but I couldn't get a clear picture of it (I tried to take it through the lower grill), but the camera just couldn't focus on it. The only way to get a clear shot would be to pull off the bumper cover.

I know what you are talking about and I don't think its the temp prob, I believe
the temp probe hangs under the battery tray
if you look at it closely, it looks like the metal tab can be pushed into
the cylinder thing, that has a button type thing on it. I think it might be the Fuel
Inertia cut off maybe....
Not sure its temp, also cause its out in the wind I doubt it would give a good reading.

In front of the radiator, driver side? Sounds like temp probe to me.

No idea where the air bag sensors are, tho I'd guess around the white impact bumper somewhere?

The inertia fuel cutoff is in the cabin, left side of the driver footwell.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but I'm hoping someone knows for sure. I guess to confirm if it's a temperature sensor, I could disconnect it from the wiring harness and see what happens?
