i believe i have heard that you can use screws instead... not certian since i don't have this kit on my car but i believe i have head that you can... just check that everythign woudl clear before you put it on... otherwise pop rivet guns aren't to exspensive usually
With your fiberglass hood i would say use the rivets. I have a kam hood with the likt kit. And there is a lot of pressure on the brackets when the hood tops out. If you were to use screws i think they would wear through eventually. Reason being you have to use very short screws so as they don't go through the top of your hood. If it was a stock hood i'd say go for it but with fiberglass??
