I am at a stale mate in my dash. The very center of the dash has all of the air conditioning items, fan and what not. I am at the point of just taking a reciprocating saw to it and call it good. Does anyone know how to remove this.

there are a few semi hidden screws in that piece

one behind the defroster/traction control/alarm led button bar just use a small flathead screwdriver to pry it out and you can see it

two in the upper side of the radio cutout

and two behind the ashtray/cubyhole

then it just lifts out of the floor mounted center console but it does take a little persistance because it has those locking tab type things on it

I am not talking about the front facsia. I am talking about the actual air box. The one that you have to remove the entire vinyl dash to get at. The box that is behind the pipe support bar that runs from one side to the other of the car.

I believe he's past all that. He's talking about that huge black box in the middle that all the ducting goes to in the middle of the car.

I've never heard of anybody removing that part of their car.

Good job, but I have one problem. She stopped where I am at currently. Do you see that big black box behind the bar. That is what I need to remove. The one that has all the AC stuff in it.

Anyone please.

What, like that?? Yeah, I had to take out all the piping there to reconfigure it to route around my Nav unit that is installed where the center vents used to be. I did it like 2 years ago but I remember that since I was not intending to put it back, I just used a dremmel and cut that puppy off and then found the lower part came off easily. There are rivets holding some of it in that had to be cut. It's genereally a one-way trip. I wouldn't recommend taking it out if you ever plan on putting it back!
