I tried to do a search on this, but really didn't come up with anything. The closest thing i found was a little bit when DanG was installing his turbo kit. Any help with this is appreciated. Thank you

just bring it to the dealer and they will do it for you, shouldn't cost a dime since it was a recall...

The recall is for most RETURNLESS Cougars which is 5/99 and up Cougars. Not return-style which is pre - 5/99

if the dealer will cover it for free, then yes have them do it. If not then if your not very mechanically inclined, do not attempt this. You have to drop the gas tank which is a PITA all in itself, then you have to install the fuel pump. The only reason DanG had a problem with doing his fuel pump install was due to the size of the walbro aftermarket fuel pump.

LBizboy is correct- Mostly. You can also remove the rear seats and cut out a section of your floor to reveal the entire ring you need to remove to get to the fuel pump. I don't like cutting, so I dropped the tank. It was a PITA, but I did it. The Walbro pump is a nice unit, a bit louder than stock, but definitely has the chutzpah to keep up with the 3L turbo. They're for return-style Cougars/Contiques ONLY.
