i got bored and was looking around the svt site and found this lil bit of info on a concept they made a while back. linky. they took the engine out of a 2000 contour svt and put in the focus. i'd imagine the power to weight ratio of that thing would make it a pretty nice lil ride. too bad they really didn't put that into production instead of the 2.0 that i have.

I bet that focus would be a rip to drive...I remember an article...wow...back in like 91 or 92 where a company made something they called a Shogun. They took a Taurus SHO V-6 and installed it in the back of a Ford Festiva...talk about a power to weight ratio. I think they actually made them and sold a few.

Why not just turbo the crap out of the 2.0? The power to weight ratio would be biggest with a turbo on a 4 banger, would it not?

The tech specs claim a 0-60 time of 7.1 secs. Either that time would be off, or it is just another slow duratec powered car

yeah i remember reading an article about that svtV6 focus vs an zx3 turbo with 220hp.

they leaned towards the i4 turbo as there fave, but they said the v6 sounded soo good. They thought the v6 would throw off the weigt balance terribly but it didnt and the car handled quite nicely.

If it where me I would have gone with the v6....because hell a 3.0 svt hybrid in that focus would be NASTY. but of course THEY didnt think about that. lol
