My 99 coug did not come with fog lights but it still has the wiring harness in the front, does this mean when i install fog lights they will come on when i turn the head lights on, or must i install the switch to? If there is a switch where is installed from the factory? Thanks for your help.

when you turn your headlight switch all the way to the right can you pull it out a little bit? if you can then you dont need to get the kit for it . . .

no it doesnt come out, but thanks for the help anyways, looks like im going to buy a new kit if no one else has any suggestions.

I was wondering if this had been resolved. I had the same question (and actually made a post too) so I wanted to know if anyone had figured it out. I had the idea of buying some new fogs, connecting them to the wire that comes already with a plug on it, replace the headlight switch for one that has the pull-out for the fogs, and install a relay. Any updates?

you could always just hook them up to another switch and save yourself the money that a new switch is going to cost you from Ford. Chances are it's probably $2000. Thank you Ford for making everything come in one package so you're left with a whole mess of crap you don't have any use for. You can hook up a switch to be hidden even if you want to.

Theres probably a way to use the non-fog switch. Only downside would be not being able to shut off the fogs with the headlights on, which does not seem like an issue.

I am also trying to wire up my fogs... would this be an option... just tap into the headlight wires so the fogs turn on with the headlights?

not a good idea, i tried that and it started melting the harness, NOT COOL. you may want to go a differnet rout.

Sure it can be done... I would imagine doing that would overload, so thats why putting in a relay for the fogs would work.

do you plan on installing the factory fog lights? . . . as far as the switch my brother bought a wireless kit for his fogs . . . come with a key chain remote and one to mount somewhere . . . you dont have to deal with running wires anywhere . . . just tapping into the wires to the fogs
