I was doing something under the hood and accidentally pushed in the little knob that the hood sits on when it is closed. The horn beeped, and the parking lights flashed. It only does it when the key is turned to the acc position, and by pressing it in different intervals, it beeps and flashes differently. This obviously must be how you program the alarm, but what are you programming??? Can you change the sensitivity of it? Does anyone know what the sequence to push it in is for different options? So far, by just playing around with it I have:

De-activated and re-activated my keyless entry.
Made my car beep when the alarm is activated and de-activated. (Normally the parking lights just flash.)
Turned the alarm off all together. The remote no longer did anything until I messed with it some more.

Does anyone know what options there are and how to set them?

Well that little black switch is the hood pin switch. It is activated when the hood is tampered with, like left open or if alarm is set and is forced open. When you push it multiple times, its telling the alarm brain to set in a caution mode, therefore disableing all external keyless remotes. Using the key itself in the door will reset the alarm. The same effect is activated with the hatch.
As for reprograming the system itself, look in the manuel on key coding. There are other threads on the subject around here somewhere....

If you let it sit for like 5 minutes it will reset and be normal again. I found out the hard way when my dad keep pushing it till it beeped and said what does this do...I told him I didn't know but to knock it off...5-10 minutes later all was good. For programming keys/remotes do a search...it is easy to do...for keys you MUST have 2 programmed keys otherwise it willn't work. Can't use the same key 2 times. The remotes are even easier.
