Okay, how do I fix this problem.

I noticed yesterday that when I pull my e-brake, it is supposed to lock the back tires, but on my cougar, the e-brake only locks the left rear tire. The right rear spins freely. What do I do to fix this? I just found this problem when rotating my tires. I have had the car for about a month.

Thanks for the help!

sounds like you may have some cable trouble. the emergency brake cables run down the outer edge of the undercarriage. there are rubber bushings on them in various places that are ribbed, for her pleasure. (her being the cougar) anyway, there are some clips and zip tie like things that hold them in place that look like they are bound to fail. one of mine had and the cable ended up rubbing the inside of my tire and making noise. should be pretty easy to spot. it's possible that maybe the one for the right is stuck or rusted and a shot or two of wd may be all the fix you need. conversely, you may need to replace the cable all together.

The cable is rusted inside, and not sliding like it's supposed to. It's gone.

You need ONE new cable, for the side that isn't working.

Okay, awesome. If it is just a cable I can get that changed in a day or two.

Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated.
