Okay I don't know if this is a normal thing or not, but I have had various occasions where my e-brake wont catch. It just snaps back right back into place, I have to pull it up 4 or 5 times before I feel any tension and hear clicking . . . then it works fines, and I sit there setting and releasing it and it feels fine. . . Now the weird part is that this happens 1 out of every 50 to 100 times I set my brake . . . . this may not seem like much but I park on a hill everyday, and we had an experience where a mustang cobra's e-brake went out and it plowed right into one of our cars on the hill . . . anyone know what I'm talking about and/or has experienced this?

Till this day my e-brake has not been fixed right. 3 brake shop visits and still wont catch securly, but just enough to be "safe" so they say.
