OK - I was reading the atomic internet how-to for dash removal and it said something like "the dash cowl is on springs"? The guy makes it sound like it's hard to replace it once its been painted. Is it easy to put it back in its position?

the dash cowl is held in by spring clips. once you take all the screws out, you just need to pull up on the cowl enough so that the spring clips pop out. Then when you're done, you just press the pieces on the cowl into their corresponding holes and they pop right in. very simple. the dash cowl is fairly large and you have to maneuver it into its spot while avoiding the rear view mirror and steering wheel so as to not scratch the paint.
