First try to figure out how many people your staying with and that will help a little. I split it with my friend last year and it only cost us half each, some people do 4 to a room with 2 on the floor, which will make your room cheaper per person, but probably not as much comfort. I think to VA beach i only had to fill up once if i remember right and it took me usually around $25 to fill up. Not sure on how the distances compare but i think Indy is a bit farther. So say about 2 fill ups (including the full tank you leave with) each way, plus tolls each way is probably $100-$150 for gas/tolls. Meals it basically depends what kind of person you are. I think one meal is being supplied but i could be wrong. If your the type of person who can grab a hot dog, bag of chips and a drink for lunch then you'll probably only spend about $30 on food for the weekend, but if your a surf and turf kind of guy and want to go out all the time expect to be spending more. Registration was $30 last year i think and im not sure how they are working it this year but i think you register, and if you want to do the 1/4 or auto x i think you pay extra for which event you want (dont quote me on that). So depending what events you want to be in could cost you a little more, or save you a bit. As far as recreation its pretty much up to you. Some people went to the beach and shopped which is cheap if you dont want anything, some people went out to bars which is going to cost you more. You dont feel forced to do anything with anyone. If a group of people are going somewhere and you dont want to go, most likely there will be PLENTY of people just hanging out in the parking lot that you could chill with. Id say overall, your probably gonna need around $400-$500 saved. If the rooms are around $300 again and you split it thats $150, then around $150 gas/tolls both ways, Cougarfest fees just say $50, then add in food, any alcohol you might want, shirts...etc. Well i guess i rambled on a little, hope i helped in some way.
