I could have probably done my power steering repair today and had a functioning Cougar, but I really felt like I should put some shakedown miles on the new engine before hitting the road for a multi-hour drive and an autocross competition

This'll be Cougarfest #2 for the Bullitt. Too bad you're not sticking around for Sunday, Jason - you could co-drive.

I am really tempted to day trip it out and back on Saturday, but I'm running a 5k in the morning so I would get a late start. Also, I really want to get my Eibach springs installed, and this is possibly the first weekend I will have time to do that since December.

Can someone post a final "official events" schedule so we know where to go based on when we show up?

Hmm, I think I do. Tonight there's not much happening, but perhaps I will stream some tomorrow.

Driving down the road to my first Cougarfest...stop for gas...POP! POP!
Wtf?
Look underneath...blew out both gas tank straps.😕
Of course I was carrying ratchet straps around for months until I cleaned out the car last weekend so I had to spend an insane amount of money for some at a truck stop.
Back on the road with a car held together by ratchet straps!

Any window clings for this year? I could use one for the collection (not the windshield, 'nother gap there now).

Made it home.
Thank you all for making me welcome amongst the regulars.
You don't know how much I appreciate how easy it was to just hang out without feeling uncomfortable.
I will be back if ever possible, and will do anything I can to help maintain the tradition now that I know how things are done.
If anyone ever needs any help in the Cincy-Dayton area, let me know. (Until I move somewhere else😂)

So the count so far is pair of gas tank straps, a serpentine belt, and a rear caliper.
Looks like we might add the hood release cable on the Jetta I leant to my brother to the list, he went to check the oil and may have gorilla'd it, I'll have to wait and see...
