Wel first a little background.

Last week I went to leave work but my e-brake was locked up. I had it in the down position and the light went off but the rear tires were still locked up. I drove about 100 feet and then all was well. Everything was fine since then until last night.

I took the ebrake off, al seemed well so I left work on lunch to go to wegmans.I hoped on the 33 and hit the brakes for the car ahead of me. Then my rear brakes locked up again. I was able to negociate this for 5 minutes until the abs light came on abd the fronts started doing the abs thing. Next thing I know my ass end comes around, I do a 360 hit the curb with passenger side rear after coming full around hope a foot in the air and I was then stopped facing the correct way. Problem was I was on a basically unplowed 198 and had 6 miles to go. A few bad fish tails later and 35 minutes I made it to wegmans. I waited 3 1/2 hrs for a tow truck(they sent a regular and I needed a flat bed) so I just gave them the keys and said come back later with a flat bed. At this point I'm waiting to hear from west herr on whats up.

That sucks! I hope everything works out. Didn't we have a recall on the car regarding the rear brakes locking up?

turns out both rear calipers are shot and both e-brake cables. All covered but they gotta order the cables so i'm stuck with a focus till tuesday.

I think something similar happened to someone in Keystone. IH8CIVX -- Adam -- had a HUGE problem with his rear brakes.

wow, I should probably get my stuff checked out because I had some problems a few weeks ago where my brakes seemed to have locked up, but almost instantly went back to normal. I know I certainly don't want to be driving on I84 at like 80 and have that happen though. Do anyone know if there was a recall and if so, which years/models?
