Hey all,

I was wondering if my friend took off his Cougar and V6 emblems like he wants to, is there anything behind them? Any holes to worry about or just some residue that we can get off with GooGone?

Nope...nothing behind there but goop. But there is 3 holes behind the cougar head emblem...so watch out.

yep, splash some goo gone on the area - take some fishing line or floss or whatever, put it behind a letter, and in a left'n'right motion, 'saw' the letters off one at a time
then use the goo gone to remove the sticky stuff left over.

a good 10 minute mod

Look at the newbie busting out the whole "i have a friend....." thing. It's ok man, were all family here. Noone's going to make fun of you b/c you don't know much. And if you really do have a friend that drives a Cougar too..... Tell him/her to join the boards as well!!!!

Yeah, and I have been on him to join the boards. Lord knows he loves his Cougar, (hell, I love his Cougar!).

Noticeable??? Ummm... Yes! The only thing you can really do is either have them patched and painted or cover them up with something.

Buy another patch and put it over. They make some really nice carbon fiber ones.

Cougar letters in carbon fiber.
The lettters are a bit to big for my taste though.

speaking of this, i just removed the "cougar" lettering this past week! its a 4 banger, so it makes it look like it could be a v6 now lol

A good idea I got from someone off cougardb.com (caenus) is that once once you take off the mercury symbol in the back . . . go to your local ford/lincoln/mercury dealership and buy the emblem for the front grill of 99-00 ($8 or so) . . . there are two prongs you need to knock off and there is already a very strong adhesive taping on the back . . . just stick it right on over the holes left from the mercury symbol . . . what I like about it is that it is slightly smaller than the mercury symbol . . . too cool :hitit:
