Just remember, its not cheap, and the costs keep coming...
Here's about what I spent, without calc'ing in labor:
Body Parts - $4,000
Body Materials - $1,000+
Paint Materials - $4,000+ (Lambo paint and PPG Radiance II paints are not cheap, nor are the liquid pearls)
One-off machined parts - $500
Engine work - $12,000
Tranny work - $6,000
Supercharger parts - $1,500 (Includes upgrading the supercharger, and getting smaller pully for more boost)
N2O parts - $1,000
Suspension - $5,000
Redesigned Fuel System - $2,500
Safety Parts - $6,000 (Includes everything to keep the engine safe, aftercooler, water-cooler for aftercooler, oil cooler/accusump, etc)
Tuning - Unknown (Since its still not all in yet)
Have fun man! Its a fun project, but man these cars are super-expensive to mod properly...
And just think, we're repainting again this winter after the motor install... I'm thinking fully airbrushed "Caged Cougar" mural this time, with a tear-scheme over that...
Ford Golf 701 (11:29:55 PM): if i want a v8, i putting the 4v 4.6L s/c cobra motor in it, and converting it to rwd
GrandMasterKhan (11:30:04 PM): however they had a huge discussion on this over on ceg.. you can actually get the same HP as that v8 through a well built full long block 3.0 with svt cams and intake parts and the proper bolt ons
GrandMasterKhan (11:30:15 PM): ok yes the cobra motor would be the freaking hotness
Ford Golf 701 (11:30:32 PM): or a 6.0 turbo diesal
GrandMasterKhan (11:30:53 PM): lol that would be insane
Ford Golf 701 (11:31:17 PM): hmm.....
