cleaning engine

2116 Views 11 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  crazyoldcougar
i spent a few days just cleaning my engine and making it look good but there is one part that is resistant to all cleaners.
i tried engine degreaser, and a bunch of household cleaners. couldnt find brake cleaner else i would have used it.
i stole the pic from someone haha

are you asking what part of the engine that is, or what product to use? I do not understand the purpose of this thread... its like a fraggmented sentence.

But go here, its a thread asking the exact same thing as you... 10 links down - here.
i reread the question, it makes sense to me but im the one who wrote it.

anyway i want to know how to clean it. it looks so grimy and i want to make in look better. it seems impervious to all cleaning products
I understand the question fine... You can try intake/carb cleaner on a rag.
that looks like the valve covers? i cant tell to well from the pic. but if its metal, try using a metal polish on it.
hey man i saw that part and i pulled out a wire brusha nd it seems to work very nice try it but be careful
Use a 50/50 mix of water and Vinegar on a cloth rag. Rub till it comes clean.
Best solution.... sand and polish it! Then you get a mirror out of it.

Not the best zoomed in photo of it, but you can see mine anyways.

nice front bumper sidkid got any updated pics, and did you have to make brackets for it or did it just work with the 6 bolt that hold the bumper on?
do you want to remove it or keep it on the car? Keeping it on the car, try a wirebrush as someone already mentioned, then cleaner, etc powder coat :)

that isn't his car...he said he stole the pic from someone...(craig) by the looks of it....seems to me it is the test car for the revolution kit...

and sorry i have no idea how well it holds up with factory bolts...but i would assume you need to have brackets for it since it is fiberglass and relatively heavy..
