Recently car companies have been replacing some of their cars left and right, escort by focus, cavalier by the Cobalt, grand am replaced next year by G6, celica by a scion.. So, when do you guys think that the civic will be replaced? Accord? Personally i'm not sure if it will be even in the next 20 years.. It seems like all the sport compacts are getting replaced left and right.

Correct. But notice I said "a scion", sort of like a ford, a dodge, implies more than one vehicle. :biggrin:

yeah, i honestly don't see Honda dropping the Civic, it's still selling a ton of units. Once sales decline substantially, then they might drop it, but I don't see that happening for a while.

Companies change the names of cars when they feel the name of the outgoing model is no longer positive. As long as people view Civics and Accords in a positive light, the names will stay. If they get associated with something negative the new models will also get new names.

since the current Civic is so lame compare to the older Civic, I would say that Honda had already replaced it with an inferior product.

I believe it was, but i was focusing more on sport compacts.

Colorado was replacing Silverado/Sierra (AFAIK)... the Colorado is huge. S10 is small.
