My check engine light has been on for a while (I'd say a month and a half maybe)....I had Auto Zone pull the code, and they say it's the front O2 sensor. Now I know that those things they use are only gonna pull a code, which could be a false one, but I'm smelling something bad too...I think its oil......My car will also rev with out pushing the gas (about 1000 RPM's) and sometimes get stuck and idle at about 1000-1500 RPM's....Anyone know what the problem could be  A guy I know at FOrd says it could be something with the MAF, but I don't know that, that would make the smell too......I'm confused as hell......

You'll need to search on "IACV" for your idle problems.

Where's the oil smell coming from- The engine bay your your tailpipe? Any smoke from either place?

my car had the same revving problem not too long ago..i replaced the pcv valve and it seemed to do the trick (only costs like a dollar somethin...advanced auto, autozone)

check around the valve cover and make sure there's no oil drippage...

as for the o2 sensor....you can order it anywhere...make sure you reset your ecu when you change it or it'll still have a cel

edit:....oh yeah....find out which o2 sensor is bad before you replaced it...autozone did my car too and they were right...

It seems to be comming from both ends of the car

As far as the O2 sensor, Auto Zone said it was the Front bank sensor......I have a friend that has an Auto Tap program, and he's gonna try to bring his lap top to work today, so maybe I'll get somemore info then......

Oh boy. That's uncool.

You may have a large oil issue- If your intake is really fouled, you could have oil getting into the cylinders. I hope it's not that serious a problem, but it should definitely be looked at by a pro.

it's foolish to keep driving around with a bad O2 sensor; you might prematurely wear out your cat and/or pre-cats. trust me. ;) if the code was either P1151 or P1131 "lack of switching", go ahead and order a new O2 sensor.

Now I know that those things they use are only gonna pull a code, which could be a false one, but I'm smelling something bad too...I think its oil......
u sure? often with a bad O2 u are burning extra fuel in your emissions system!

they told me my MAF was bad, too, shortly after i had replaced my O2 sensor. all i had to do was reset the ECU/PCM and drive around awhile to get the fuel tables back to normal. a flooded engine doesn't like to rev up high. :)
