Howdy,

I'm coming up to 30k miles on my Cougar and so another cabin air filter change is in order. I've already done it myself once, but it was a real pain in the ass getting to all the screws because the hood partially blocks them so there's no room to use a regular screwdriver. I ended up using a screw tip from one of those cheap screwdrivers with the changaeble tips. Even that did not work well as I accidently dropped a couple of the bits while putting the screws back in :(

I need a screwdriver that can fit into tight spaces (kinda like the adapters they make for socket sets). Do they make such a thing, at least one that isn't part of some expensive speciality kit? I stopped by Home Depot and didn't see anything like it. How are other people able to get to those screws??

Holy pain in the a$$ Batman! Don't take the hood off It's an easy job, just use a flexible screwdriver like mentioned to get at the screws. It should be like a 5 min job, including wiping down the air filter area. The owners manual has some pics w/ steps and you don't have to take off both sides of the cowl thing. Good luck!
