CATs has agreed to create a class for us at the event!
I think this is great news, and wether any of the old school guys like it or not, its a small step toward legitimizing us as a classic car.
I need three things:

First, They need to know who has already registered in the >74 class so they can be switched over. If youve already registered, send me the name that youve registered under. I need this ASAP.

Second, I will pay the sponsorship fee up front, but anyone who is willing to chip in to cover it, your contribution would be greatly appreciated. Just put your name down in this thread or PM me. If you have a max amount your willing to contribute, then let me know, for anyone who doesnt specify we will just split whats left evenly. Since this is totally voluntary, there is no pressure to contribute certain amounts and no such thing as a "fair share", just contribute whatever your comfortable with. The fee is only $100 so were not talking big bucks here and anything you offer will be a meaningful amount toward the total.

Third, we need to show up and represent ourselves as a group who deserves to be there. Lets help people overcome whatever obstacles they might have and get some cars there. If you have multiple Cougars, find someone to drive them for you. If they dont run, trailer them. Dont worry about your rust or dents, if people see a group thats dedicated to the car, they might start thinking theres something here to look at without instantly discounting us. I know thats an "optimistic" viewpoint to say the least, but hey, whats the harm in that?

Does anyone even know who currently owns our logo? I'm sure nobody is going to sue me for sharing it with Cats so they can use it in show materials to identify us as a sponsor, but I would hate to share a logo without permission anyway...

I recreated the original that Spencer made years ago so we could make stickers. I'll dig out the hi res file.
That would be great. They already added our class to the website so I think they will get the logo up as soon as I get it to them.

Since we're in with our own class (Sweet! Nice going!) I'll rescind my 74+ offer, and put that $50 toward our class sponsorship! Shoot me a PM with where you want me to send it. Thanks!

I already registered in the 74+ class, under Frank Koszak.

I'll chip in for the class fee, just let me know how much and what is the Paypal!

Thanks Scott for leading this!

Just a friendly reminder to all NECO members - everyone with a Cougar is invited to register their vehicle for the Anniversary Show on Saturday June 22nd. We are accepting all Cougars, regardless of condition! We want to see them all! Registered Cougars will be able to park on show site. Spectators will have alternative parking off site to choose from.

Additionally, whether you register your vehicle to show or not, you are also invited to purchase tickets to attend the Award Banquet Dinner on Saturday, June 22nd at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum. Tickets can also be purchased under the registration drop down menu here: https://www.catsccc.com/2019-events

Please reach out to me directly if you have any questions or if I can personally assist further. We are excited to have NECO celebrate your 20th Anniversary and our 50th Anniversary together. Should be a great weekend.

I wish my yellow car would be ready by then and I'd bring that too, but I highly doubt it. I'll be driving the Roush almost certainly.

I think this is great, Scott!

They're celebrating the 50th anniversary of the '69 -

We're celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the New Edge Cougar!

And the more we have of them, the better.

If my black cougar could possibly make it, I'd be driving up, but the fuel gauge has quit working & even with freshly renewed AAA I don't trust 2,700 miles in a week. Sigh... I really miss the FL. CEG folks who'd help me make sure work was done right - and that the right work was done!

Anyone want a FL vacation to rebuild a ported 3.0L with piston-knock? I miss driving my baby so much:cry:.

See you in Dublin Ohio 2020. Maybe we need to get a Cougar corn hole tournament setup for that show.

I hear the yellow car was DQ'd for being "Too Awesome" for anyone else to compete with...

Cheers to CATSCCC for putting on such a fun show and for making us feel welcome. Nice meeting you, Brian!

74 total Cougars:

  • 1967 = 7
  • 1968 = 9
  • 1969 = 34
  • 1970 = 7
  • 1971-73 = 10
  • Fox body = 1
  • New Edge = 6
I think we can do better than 6 next time!
