Anyone know the purpose of the black button under the front of the hood. All I know is if you hit it a bunch of times it honks the horn and flashes the lights. Did the engineers just smoke some crack one night?

Try this... Open the hood. Hold that "black button" Down. Lock the doors with the keyless remote. Let off the button and see what happens... It should set the alarm off. I guess to set if off incase someone wants to steal a new intake or maybe that fuse block that cost an ass load of money. (it set mine off.. Should do the same to yours)
Yea I found this out a while ago. One time I was fiddling under the hood and I pressed that button. The horns beeped, the parking lights flashed, and I couldn't start my car for about 5 minutes, and my remote entry wouldn't work. Then after the 5 minutes it beeped and flashed again and everything was fine. I've been told it has something to do with the alarm, and its some security feature, like lamejon said. I thought I wrecked the car!

Wow! Never seen that one!!! Where's it at? See, the Ford engineers were thinking afterall when they built the car - engine bay security too! Very cool, though - I'll have to look for mine...
