How do you push the piston on the caliper back in for the new pads? I've always changed my own, but I've also always had a used car. So far, I've done it my step-father's way, using a c-clamp to push it back in. Is this correct? Any damage to the master cylinder from the pressure?

Sorry for the dumb question...

yeah i just used a c-clamp... although last time i did there was mucho brake dust and it was kinda stuck, so i "lightly" applied break pressure, then went back to the c-clamp and it pushed in all the way....
