any how to on this

didn't find any, i debating taking it to a shop or doing it myself. Im replacing the fronts on a 2001 cougar mtx
still some pad left on existing pads.
Is it overly involved or could some one with avg mechanical skills pull it off.
plus id like to know how to do em myself.
any tips or how too

It's pretty simple, You need a t45 torx to remove the 2 bolts that hold the calipers. Take them loose, swing the caliper away from the rotor, pop off the spring that holds the outer brake pad in place, and remove your pads. Then you are going to need a large c clamp to depress the brake cylinder in the caliper-push it all the way in or your new pads won't fit around your rotors. Put your new pads in, slide the caliper back on, and tighten the torx bolts back on. It took me about 1/2 hour and 2 beers to do both.

great thank you super helpful. It took me no time to do this. Only thing is it took longer for me to reinsert the caliper spring than the rest of the install. 1 hour for bolth dam that spring.
