Hey does anyone know if it's possible to repair a fiberglass front bumper in any way? I hit a pothole with my right front tire and the whole car lowered on that side and pushed my front bumper up which caused it to crack in a few places. I hate to throw the bumper away cause it's really not that old and I don't have the money to buy a new one right now. I heard its possible to apply an apoxy to it and repair. Is there anyone who actually knows how to do this out there? If so help me!

you could just buy the fiberglass sheets and the resin in any auto store. There are some fiberglassing how-to's around here for building stereo enclosures, and it's not much different than this. You just apply the resin on the sheets, place on the bumper and sand it down when it dries.

ok i searched out a few body shops to get their opinions today and they are telling me it will cost me 400 for the repair work and another 200 for repainting and another 200 for installation. Thats more then i can get a new one, painted and installed! Is there anyone who might be able to help me since i really have no idea what to do? Maybe we can have a fiberglass fixing gathering! lol

ok i have worked wit fiberglass a lot, if a peice is not even attached you can buy fusor #147 n apply that to the seam in 24 hrs it will be solid, then you would need to grind down a good amount apply resin and some fiberglass mat where ever areas need work, then grind or sand with 36 grit sand paper, then apply duraglass if you have low spots fairly decent size if not then go straight to your lightweight body filler(bondo) apply no more then 2 coats once you think it looks perfect shape then you cover it with a glaze or icing coat just a skim one this is only to fill in pin holes and lil imperfections put it on to think in it will crack out -Justin
