Well when i complete my 3L build and drop her in hoping this Spring i want to do a battery relocation to the trunk for space, looks and a better weight ratio. Now my question is when i do it, do i have to do anything special to be ok to race and a normal (real) track?? I will using a battery box of course with a Optima Red Top. Is there anything i need to do like a master switch or ANYTHING so i can still race? Thanks

Yep, I believe you need a battery cut off switch. Please, someone correct me if Im wrong....

Last year at Cougarfest the initial rule was that for trunk-mounted batteries, you had to have a cutoff switch that was accessible from outside the car, on the back.

They ended up throwing that one out because everybody threw a fit, and since Cougar drag racing is like cripple fights anyway. But I think that is the NHRA rule.

the j-bolts must also be welded int place
and battery must be vented

i dont think optimas dont need to be vented because they are dry cell.
