As in my previous post (which I accidently deleted) I had charging problems. I thought it was the battery as the eye was red, but it turns out it was the alternator. The housing was completly cracked, and since you have to by a ford alt that $325CAN. plus labor and such.

Is there any warranties that cover a cracked alternator housing?

Thanks

Colin

The extended warranty that I bought for my car covers alternators... I don't think that it is covered under the manufacturer's warranty though. I may be wrong though since every warranty claim I have ever had has gone through the extended warranty company. You may be better off just replacing the alternator with a aftermarket one anyways... Some people on here have had their stock alternator replaced like 5 times!

I paid $175US for my duralast Autozone alternator. Seems to be good once I got my issues worked out and has a lifetime warranty.
