I know that Puck Puck did a how to but mine is different???

I got on the Alt, 2 bolts on bottom and one on top...
Has anyone replaced an Alt Like this???
If so how to remove the bolt on top????

is this from a cougar?

All alternators for cougars and contours are the same.... if you are getting that out of a service manual (which looks like you are) i wouldn't worry too much... as the diagram is more than likely incorrect... unless of course we aren't talking about cougars

I got an 02 C2 cougar and that the type of Alt that I have????
But the only problem is that I can't get the upper single bolt to brake
lose and having trouble with it?????
I bought the Alt from the GB and wanted to put it on
this weekend with no luck
Any body the the same type that's switched out Alt of the same type??

You know that's really odd. The "standard" alternator actually mounts to a bracket on the engine.... the alternator pictured, seems to have the bracket integrated into the housing itself as that's where the holes would end up.... Could Ford of possibly changed the design late in the last runs of Cougars? If that's the case, the next question, is do you really need an alternator, as you would have something that is of a different design, and possibly better. Ford doesn't change a design because it feels like it. It will only do so when it has to.

I do believe we discovered there are two types of alts for the Cougars. One of the guys at the MC Neco meet at Brad's said he did his (with the integrated bracket) and it was a snap, much easier than the types that we have.

As far as I know that ford did change in the late run???
And Yes I need to change the Alt cuz I have a high out put
System and drawing to much from the Stock Alt...
EternalOne do you know who did the swap that was a snap???
I would like to know how easy it was,cuz I had broken lose two of the three
this weekend but couldn't find the way to get the third one done..
Is there a better or easy way of getting this done?????
