Hi, I'm from the uk, I was just wondering if any guys over there were running air suspension, I have just had it fitted and have found it good. What are other peoples opinions on this.
Thanks Adrian.
CATerina and a few others are runing on bags. I hear they are fun to play with and feel pretty good but personaly id like to get into auto X soon and they are a bit bouncy for that.
i'm bagged, i think total i know of 15 bagged cougars. caterina's however is no more. he sold his setup so he's out. but yeah, its not really bouncy so much as it is stiff or soft. i can't recall a time where i've been "bounced" around. and to prove a point; i've seen some cars autoX on bags. its f'n great to see a bodydropped truck kickass on an autoX course. something about the 4 link out back and the mustang 2 up front that makes it handle fantastic.
but to answer the question yes. some of us are on air.
Cool, nice to know of a few others. I'm the first in the uk, at the moment.
My setup is front to back side to side, although I cant lift the wheels of the ground.
I have bags at the front and cylinders at the rear as there is not enough room for bags at the rear, does this sound about right?
O ya cylinders in rear...... enjoy while they last. When I had cylinders i tucked alot more then that.. Not sure what brand you have though. I think most of us are now bagged in the rear. 3 Whell'n [censored]
Thanks for the comments, I cant space the wheels anymore as when the car is dropped my wheels are about 1-2mm away from the arches.
The whole air set up cost £2200, which is completly custom made for my car. The place I went to has a very good name, he could'nt fit bags in the rear due to the limited space so custom cylinders were made, with uprated bushes.
I'm pleased with the end results.
you're not cool unless you tuck stock wheels....unless you tuck spare tire
but really bags will ride much smoother and last much longer. you might want to look into. but nice color, and it is pretty low. i could tell you some secrets to get lower....but...i don't think they'll translate well, or something.
oh and to solve the "bags don't fit in ther rear" problem. you can do one of two things. cut and move back the rear inner fender, or get a HUGE hammer and lightly beat the fender to clear the bag. it works.
Ive looked at bags before (not seriously, just out of curiosity) and Ive read that some give soft rides, and others stiff...what is it that decides how your bags ride?
