ok so my friend buys a 2003 hundia tirburon, and i must say im a lil jealous. he got sports package and get this a gtv6 , 6 speed mtx. i've yet to get him to line up wit me due to it being a 1 month old car... but i must say im fearful of losing due to the faster acceleration me being a 2.5 and him a 2.7 ... and i ask u this shouldn't a cougar be 6 speeds or have had the option to be?

HaHa definetly. I drove my friends 6-speed supra TT. VERY fun ripping through the gears.

Nope...the gearing in many of these 6speed trannies sucks.

With proper gearing, the 5speed is preferred.

More gears does not mean better acceleration. My new 5spd in my trunk now, will spin out much faster than those useless 6spd's.

I've heard that 6-speeds are actually slower. You want lesser gears. But doesnt the tibbyalso have 170hp?

Something makes me think they have 180, not exactly sure so i could be wrong. Either way id think they would be lighter then a cougar but i think a race could go either way depending on the driver.
