Short version of the story, i drove my stepsisters ford windstar van somewhere........But on the way home a guy in a v6 camaro(00-02 model) passed me, we were on rt16 in wv, its a two lane curvy country road with a few nice straight streaches, anyway he was hammering on it so i figured i would see if i could keep up! Did i ever, he was a little faster in the curves but i stuck with him, in the straights i could have easily passed him, but i stayed on his ass just to piss him off, now i really want a 3.0L in my coug......we'll see what happens over the winter/spring months, i might come up with the $$ for the swap

My cousin has a V6, 94 camaro w/ t-tops...doesn't have that much balls. It looks sweet (im partial) but not as fast as camaros are believed to be really..

i beat a v6 camaro when my car didn't suck....raced him like 3 times...was a 97 v6 5 speed...dude was pretty cool....ended up pullin over and bs-in....he had the K&N intake and flowmaster....one of the most impressive things my car's ever done...

v6 camaros arnt that great... I raced one around stanley park (a huge ass park in vancouver with awesome turns) in my previous car before my coug.. it was a 95 escort GT. That car wasnt the fastest but it took out almost all civics and some tegs.... its funny blasting past ricers and seeing them with their mouths wide open especially when they have their gf in the car.. hahahaha

Both the V6 F-bodies and V6 Mustangs aren't really anything on performance. I was paired up against a 2001 V6 Firebird with just intake and exhaust at the tree this past summer. I blew him out of the water by 3 seconds lol. He was running constant mid 15s to low 16s. My first run with him I think was his best, about a 15.7 The 2nd time I got at the tree, again I was paired with the dude and he pulled a 16.2 on that run. Automatic though.


There's alot of aftermarket mods for them though if you want to go that far. I think the best you will see out of one is down to mid 13s with enough work. Maybe even knocking on 12s doors. I've read afew times in some of the f-body sites on the V6 models. But like someone stated already

V6 -- If you don't want to pay the high cost, high insurance cost and just like the looks and some of it's handling.

V8 -- If you want the looks, the handling, and the power of a beast (usually dynoing at worst 285rwhp to best 325rwhp bone stock!)
