So what are the thoughts on when to arrive, etc? Perhaps we can organize some small caravan plans if anyone's sharing a route in some fashion.

Are we staying at the host hotel for the classics event, or do we want to strike out on our own? I'm of the opinion that we hit the host hotel and attempt to be social, LOL.

I can't decide if I want to drive up on Thursday afternoon/evening, or Friday morning.

DISCUSS.

Not opposed to the the same hotel, but there are other hotels in the area with better prices. Anyone traveling on a tight budget might prefer another location.
We would probably try to get there Thursday to have plenty of time to wash the cars, although spending Thursday night in Columbus and finishing up Friday morning could work too. The Friday morning bug guts should wipe off easy enough as long as the wax is fresh:rofl:

Yeah the hotel was definitely not the typical sub-$100 hotel. I really kind of wanted to make every effort to NOT appear to be a non-participating bad sport, because that's how I feel we would be perceived anyways. But you make a fair point.

It's about a 2.5-hour drive from Columbus, so I could comfortably depart on Friday morning and still arrive well before the scheduled lunchtime cruise.

Who else is driving through Columbus on the way in? Frank?

Yeah, old school car show guys value stock highly. I keep having to talk my dad off the ledge of wanting to repair the 2.5 that came with Lostracers car.
It would be fun to do a true restoration on a Roush or maybe a 35th someday just for show purposes...maybe next Cougar. (Dont tell my wife I'm already thinking about the next one:rofl:)

I have a free set of SVT cams with timing chains and gear for anyone new who shows up. If more than one new person shows, we will raffle them.

I would probably go well north of Columbus, but we could definitely try to meet somewhere and at least caravan for the last few hours. I'm thinking GPS will want to take me north, on the OH turnpike, towards Cleveland, and then across. I'm willing to modify my route some if it helps.

I'll be planning on bringing the Roush, and probably my dad. Girlfriend already has a beach weekend planned with friends. She's beginning to think you all will think I'm making her up!

Yeah I figured there was a good chance you'd be on the turnpike. From Columbus we go up US33 through people's back yards for 150 miles, and come nowhere near the turnpike. It's total garbage; there's no good way to get from Columbus to the Fort Wayne area.
