Hi,

Is there a known Plant Photograph Green Light Automotive tire
Ford alternative to the later 2001/2 model rear top bump stop? From another model of the same era?

98-00 bump stop on left, later on the right..

Or is it a case of changing over the strut tops, bump stops and springs from the earlier model?

Universal bump stops are fine. No need for model specific ones.

Wait...are you talking about the spring seat? (black left, white right on your picture)
If that's the case, you can switch to the 99/00 parts from 01/02. You need a matched set of springs and spring seats. MK1 or MK2 Mondeo will work, but that's all we know of I think.

Thanks for the replies - just the bumpstop - the shape on the earlier 'Mondeo' one is different do just curious if anyone has used the earlier one or which universal one can be used for 2001+ models

Just measure the ID, OD, and length and get something that will fit. It's unlikely that you're spending a lot of time exercising your rear bump stops unless you're a racer.

When I did it 12 years ago, I used the bump stops that came with the replacement boots I bought.
My thread is too old to count on for accuracy anymore, but this is what I found at the time.
