Does anyone else have problems with the donut style gasket sealing against a 2.5" exhaust? Its been replaced but never seems to seal up properly.

Im thinking of picking up a 3 bolt y-pipe to solve my problems.

chances are the springs have weakened over time. if you go to your local parts store you can pick up a Help! brand crysler exhaust bolt kit, has long shank bolt, washer and nut with capture plate and tapped spring and this should help seal it up.

Almost every motr swap I do where the y-pipe is being removed, that gasket tends to break apart!! Even when I'm being very careful...

Usually, like brapple stated, if it loosens up, then the gasket will start to deteriorate and develop leaks...

if the donut gasket is original and you are changing the exhaust it is best to get a new one. when I swapped my optomized y-pipe on and shortly there after a SVT main cat I had trouble getting it to seal even with new hardware. So this year when the trubendz exhaust went on I got a new gasket and I don't know of any issues at this time.
