2) BF Goodrich Comp T/A's

3) Yokohama Avid H4
** Best tire / value at only about $70-90 ea! I had these for a while and I'd use them again over almost anything!

All Season (rain/snow/ice/dry)

1)?? (cant think of who manufacturer is right now lol) Assurance
** These are the best designed all season tires ever!

2)?? (again cant remember manufacturer lol) Aquatred 3's
** These are very comparible to the Assurance's but not quite as good - my 2nd favorite!

Winter Tires

1) Hakkapolita Hakka Q's
** Simply the best winter tire ever made! These things will grip pure ice like it's dry pavement. We used these on our ice racing car and killed the competition!

GoodYear Assurance and yes, a great tire!

falken ziex 502's 225-50-16
very soft compound. wears very fast. tires have maybe 15,000 miles on them. decent in the snow. EXCELLENT in the wet. extremely sticky when new in the dry. car handles nicely and it has a smooth ride(due to the soft soft sidewalls) tires have a tendancy to roll over in a tight corner if not inflated to about 35. need new tires now b4 winter.....

Re: Tire Testimonials! I NEED YOUR INPUT!!!

Size- (As manual specifies for stock sport 16" Wheels)
Type- Bridgestone Potenza
Miles- Unknown (Over 10,000)

A set costs about 500 total..

When I bought the car, these tires were on the car. I know that these are expensive tires and they looked good when we bought it. They hold the road like no other. If you like to spin your tires, these aren't for you. They'll try to stick so much you'll wheel hop till the cows come home. great tires in the snow, ice, and when racing.. I mean what? who said that!

Kumho Ecsta ASX - 205/55/16

I will edit this post at a future date as I've had the tires on my car for less than 24 hours, but they are such a night and day difference over the Falken's I had on previously it is amazing.

I do take in to consideration my Falkens were pretty much race slicks by the time I replaced them, but even when they still had a reasonable amount of tread on them, they could not compare to the Kumho's. The ASX's stick like glue to the road, I have much more faith in the car entering and exiting the interstate now. Last night a ramp I normally would have hit at about 35 I breezed around at 40+.

The tires also provide good straight-line grip. A friend of mine pulled his Civic Si up next to me at a stoplight last night. I was only half anticipating a race, so I didn't exactly launch the car the way I would at a dragstrip, but I did dump clutch and got a nice bit of initial wheelspin which quickly gave way to grip, followed by a little more wheelspin as I shifted in to second.

The car feels much more in contact with the road now, and I am anxiously awaiting a nice, completely dry to to find a decent stretch of road and do a little canyon carving.

Re: Tire Testimonials! I NEED YOUR INPUT!!!

BFG G-force T/A KDW's - No traction through first and second and spun in third. They look cool though, and handling was nice on them.

BFG G-Force T/A Drag Radial (225/45/17-205/40/17) - Good traction on these, 1st gear is still pointless but at least it grips. Tredwear? Well lets just say these get replaced every few months or so. And the're rather expensive.

For as much as the drag radials cost, next time I'll be picking up some Eagle F-1's or some ES100's.

Re: Tire Testimonials! I NEED YOUR INPUT!!!

-225/50/16
-Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread
-Since May of 2005. About 13,000 miles.
-The best all season tire I have purchased. I have had the chance to drive them in perfect dry conditions and they stuck like glue. In horrible downpour rains and puddles they drive without any worries or hydroplaning. Even in heavy snow/ice they were really quality, with very little if any slip. Its a weeee bit loud, but honestly if you have the stereo on youll never notice it. Even after 13,000+ miles, i still have tons of tread left.

Little pricey but so far seems to be a great investment.

A real nice tire if your on a budget. I haven't had any problems with them so far, and they're real good stock replacements if your looking for some.

Re: Tire Testimonials! I NEED YOUR INPUT!!!

Started off with the BFG KDWs that came on my SVT E1s when I bought them. They were whatever the stock size for the SVT was. I just didn't like them, too noisy. I went tire shopping soon after that, and ended up with:

Yokohama Avid V4 225/50R-16
Why this tire never gets mentioned, I'll never understand. Despite costing about $80/tire, I've gotten a solid 30K miles on my set, and only recently have I felt that grip is starting to really give way. I ran these under a BAT suspension on my '95 and on my '97SE (similar suspension but a little more ride height), and they've been grippy in dry and wet conditions, reasonable in light snow, but not too noisy. They're certainly street tires as opposed to racing tires with grooves, but they've never let me down and the value is unbeatable.

We ran Avid H4s on my wife's Zetec Contour GL, and I believe my father had the same H4s on his Acura TL, and the performance out of those tires is nowhere near the same as the Avid V4. Don't bother with the H4.

Re: Tire Testimonials! I NEED YOUR INPUT!!!

I've got Nankang EX-601's on the car now and like them fairly well. I've taken a few mountain cruises with them and they hold fairly well. They don't hold up to well to hard abuse though (burnouts and donuts eat them up FAST). The wear on them seems quick as well. That and they only have a 91H speed rating.

I purchased tonight (and should get tomorrow) some BFG G-Force Sport tires. The guy at Discount said they are a very good tire, and hopefully seeing all the good reccomendations made here, they will be a very good tire for me.
