Rotor Questions

Ok, I need a little bit of rotor help. My Cougar's brakes are squeaking and it's really friggin' annoying...I need new rotors, the ones on the car are shot. I've had hella trouble finding a rotor that I want. PREFERABLY I just want a quality cross-drilled rotor...I've heard that slotted and cross-drilled rotors murders your brake pads and dimpled rotors are out of the question. So could one of you guys point me in the right direction?

Re: Rotor Questions

normally brake squeal is caused by the pad vibrating. This can be stopped by putting a thin shim with copaslip on it behind the pad. You are right, slotted discs eat pads more quickly. I have just finished my brakes...i have 300mm up front and my old 276mm on the rear. Trust me...unless you're gonna break the land speed record, this setup is fine. I think all the parts are listed on the site. If you use stock parts, you can have very good brakes at reasonable prices...and spares are cheap and easy to find....G.
