Re: wheel bearings
yes, or you can just find someone selling entire hubs then you can just swap them out yourself pretty easily

Quote:
yes you need a hydraulic press to properly remove and install wheel bearings. or as stated the other popular option is to buy new hubs from Ford that come with the bearings pressed in already.

Re: wheel bearings
ok, I found a hub assembly at napa. This include the hub. I would think the part the bearing is pressed into is the control arm behind it, is this correct? Is there a diagram somewhere on hear, I can look at? Sorry, I don't have a factory manual yet. I do always get them for my cars. I just got this car though. Thanks for all your help!

Re: wheel bearings
Knuckle is #1 in this diagram:
Team Ford Parts Online and the wheel bearing gets pressed into that, then the hub is pressed into the bearing... break-down in this diagram: Team Ford Parts Online

Re: wheel bearings
When I did both my front bearings i couldn't find a hub and bearing assembly for the front, it is available for the rear but everywhere I looked had just the bearing. any respectable shop should be able to press out the old one and press the new one in for you for a pretty small shop. Or to have the labor done for the full install should be 1.5hr/side. The one place I took mine tried to charge me double to have the bearing pressed I took my business elsewhere.

Re: wheel bearings
You have to press the bearing into the knuckle and then the hub into the bearing. Hope that makes sense.

Re: wheel bearings
I did mine when I worked for Ford. Be warned that there is a special tool to help press our front bearings in and out. On the knuckle, the part that extends out to attach to the strut offsets the balance while it is standing up. You can support it with a block or something on the otherside but you take a chance at breaking the arm for the strut.
